About Our Company

Kevin began repairing cars in 1972; this was a necessity for the reason he could not afford to pay someone to do it for him.

A graduate of W.T. Clarke High School in Westbury with a regent's diploma for mechanical engineering. Soon after graduation Kevin decided mechanical engineering was not for him and starting working as an apprentice in the automotive field. His interest was very strong and he began taking as many courses as he could afford to attend while working. Kevin started his first business at the young age of nineteen but soon after six months he realized he was not ready and took a job working for a local Mobil Gasoline repair service station. After seven short years he was determined to attempt a new business of his own, he started his own "Mobil" brand franchise auto repair gasoline service station "Appel Automotive" in Shirley, N.Y. in the early part of 1981. Kevin stayed with that oil company for a twenty year run and decided in the beginning of 2001 to start again.

Kevin has his own building customized to the way he likes! A clean, neat and productive work place in Port Jefferson Village, conveniently located near the train station.

Kevin is a hands on kind of guy and even after all these years, loves cars and the rewards of a job done correctly and in a timely fashion. He still works with his hands and mind on many cars a week.

Kevin and his staff are enrolled in several automotive training programs to stay on top of the ever changing automotive industry.

Kathie is Kevin's wife and has the responsibility of the phones, bookkeeping, but what she really enjoys is entertaining our clients with conversation when dropping off or picking up a repaired vehicle.
